general contractor you are free to use any sub-contractor you like, but you are of course also ultimately responsible for ensuring the quality
of work you receive. Do your homework up front to reduce your risks. Below are some of the key things you need to look for when sourcing
trade work for your project.

- Are you licensed in this state?
- Do you have liability insurance?
- Are you bonded?
- Will you be pulling the permits for this part of the project?
- Can you provide me references from past customers?
- Have you had any complaints filed against you?
- What are your payment requirements?
- Will you provide me a written proposal and contract?
