Top 5 Partner FAQs

 

1.  What happens once I am registered as a partner?

 

Once you register online by entering the required information and hitting the “submit” button, our Partner Service process is automatically initiated and will follow these steps:

  • You will receive an email to confirm your e-mail address is correct, at the bottom of the email message, please “click here” to confirm your address
  • Your Partner profile information is audited for completeness
  • Our Partner Service center will contact you to complete any required information that may be missing.
  • A Partner service coordinator will collect your current certificate of insurance from your supplied insurance agent.
  • We will verify and list the following on your Partner profile:
    • Satisfactory or unsatisfactory Better Business Bureau status.
    • Valid Email address is provided
    • Federal Tax ID number is provided
    • Contractor License is provided

 

2.  How will I be considered for a job?

 

Our Owner-Builders use PresBuild, our web-based Build Planning and Management System, to plan their home build.  As they are planning their build, they will walk through all work that needs to be arranged . . . ie they click open “foundation” and verified subcontractors will be listed for them to consider, highlighting their verified and overall survey rating information.  They often click open your company name and can see your profile information and any references you have entered.  They will typically select 2-3 sub-contractors to bid on their project. Our Owner-Builders will have your contact information and either, send you a bid-request e-mail with their blue-prints attached or give you a call.  The Owner-Builder is the ultimate decision maker as to which partners will have the opportunity to bid on their project.  License, Insurance, Better Business Bureau rating, and references are key factors that Owner-Builders will consider.

 

3.  How is my work or service evaluated?

 

As Owner-Builders complete build tasks by “clicking” it done, a very simple survey screen pops up for them to rate the sub-contractor / work performed.   We work closely with customers to make sure the surveys are completed and taken seriously.  These surveys and ratings, without any customer name / contact information, are also listed in the partner profile and available for future customers to view and evaluate as they make their bid choices.  Surveys are important to our customers as well as our sub-contractors; it is a critical step in presenting a sub-contractor network to our owner builders where quality workmanship and professionalism are valued. 

 

 

4.  How does the referral program work?

 

Sub-Contractor Partners who have been verified and attended a workshop are eligible for a $1000 referral bonus if a referred lead builds with President Homes.  Simply refer leads to our website, the lead will register on our web-site, will be asked how they heard about President Homes . . . tell them to click Referral and the system will then ask for who referred them . . .they MUST  enter either your phone number or e-mail address for the system to recognize and award the lead to you.  The system will automatically track the lead referral and if they build with President Homes within the next 2 years, you will receive the $1000 referral bonus. 

 

 

5.  What does “Verified Partner” mean? 

 

Every partner that goes through the required profile set up process will be listed in our Partner Network as a verified partner.  The verification process includes:

  • Required Contact information is provided.
  • Certificate of insurance is provided and lists current coverage.
  • Checking the Better Business bureau status.
  • Federal Tax ID number or Social Security Number is provided.

 

President Homes will list all partners whether or not Insurance, license to do business, or Federal Tax ID number is provided.  This information is made available on the Partner profile screen and is viewed by our customers when selecting Sub-Contractor Partners.  It is ultimately up to our customers which partners they choose to use. We try to provide as much information for our customers as possible to help them make a good decision.

1.  President Homes?

2.  Are These Modular Homes?   

No. While you can choose to have your walls panelized (delivered in wall sections without sheathing) or have your home shell-erected (essentially we frame it through weatherproofing and then you finish it), they are all quality, stick built homes.

  • Your Home Specs: In Home Planning and Specs, you choose your construction grade materials and fit & finish selections  -  framing lumber, floor systems, roofing, geothermal HVAC, green building, plumbing fixtures, windows, cabinets, etc.

3.  Is The 20% Real?   

The short answer is YES. That is an average number taken from actual homes built with President Homes measuring the difference between appraised value and the cost to build. 

The longer answer is that every home build and equity earned will vary by the same factors you look at when buying or selling any home - the lot, the location, the home layout, the fit & finish selections, etc.  In addition, since this is an Owner - Builder program, you have the flexibility to do some of the work which can significantly increase your earned equity . 

 

4.  What Do I Do?  

Basically, you do what you would do having someone else build your home. You work with a designer to develop your plans, sign a contract, select your fit & finish options to fit your budget, visit the home site frequently to make sure everything is according to the plans and make any decisions on changes as they occur.
